NAR: National Association of Realtors
The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is currently one of the largest trade associations in the United States. Members of the NAR include real estate agents, brokers, counselors, real estate appraisers, executives, and other industry professionals.
The goal of the NAR is to unite, support, and foster the professional development of individuals in the real estate profession. In doing so, they hope to protect the best interest of all property owners and defend the right of all individuals to own property.
There are many state and local chapters of the National Association of Realtors. They must comply with the standards set forward by the national organization.
